Who am I ?

Mehdi BENTOUNSI is postdoctoral researcher at Université Sorbonne-Paris-Cité (France) since december, 2015. Prior to his current position, he served since 2014 as Assistant Professor at the Statistics and BI department of IUT Paris Descartes (France). From 2010 to 2013, he served as Research Engineer at Somone (France), a leading consulting company in IT Monitoring and Event Management softwares.

His research interests lie in the field of information security and databases with emphasis on data lifecycle management, privacy, and data security in cloud computing and untrusted environments.
In particular, with applications in the areas of 
big data analysis, business processes management, biometrics, and monitoring. Mehdi BENTOUNSI participated in several national and international research projects : ANRT CIFRE (Industriel project that involved Somone and Université Paris Descartes), FP7 S-cube (multi-partner european project), NPRP (International project between Purdue University & Qatar University), and more recently IDV (French project funded by Université Sorbonne-Paris-Cité). Its academic and industrial experiences allowed him to increase his skills in management of R&D projects, research funding (funding proposal) and relationship with research funding agencies, supervision of trainees and team management, technological survey, and intellectual property (brands, patent,..). He is always open to new collaborations and career propositions.

Mehdi BENTOUNSI obtained his engineer degree (Ingénieur) in computer science and distributed systems from Université de Constantine (Algeria) in 2006, and a master degree in theoretical computer science from Université d'Evry - Telecom SudParis - ENSIIE (France) in 2010. He joined Université Paris Descartes (France) in 2011 where he graduated PhD in computer science and information security in 2015.
